My Favourite Subjects
I love photographing all different kinds of subjects to be honest… it’s possible to find something interesting in most things if you try! But there are some subjects that I really enjoy capturing and here are a few of them:
I love taking pictures when I’m out in the countryside walking or camping, or even when I’m just in my back garden… there are such beautiful colours, shapes and textures in nature. I particularly enjoy taking close-ups so I can capture the textures of a tree or a pretty flower, for example.
There can’t be too many photographers who don’t like photographing people. I love taking candid shots, where the subject is not aware I am taking their photo. I’m not a big fan of posed portrait photography – it rarely seems to capture a persons character in the same way that candid shots do (although there are exceptions).
There are so many exciting images all round us just waiting to be snapped. From interesting architecture to people going about there day-to-day lives – there is so much going on around us everyday that is just begging to be photographed!
I love this picture of London’s bustling Borough Market, where people are enjoying all kinds of delicious food underneath the arches of the railway bridge…
I enjoy capturing a beautiful landscape with my camera and we are blessed with so many of them in the UK. My favourites are the Peak District, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands – there are just so many incredible shots waiting to be taken there! But, of course, there are beautiful landscapes everywhere – you just need to grab your camera and go out and find them…
So those are a few of my favourite subjects to snap… What about you – what are your favourite subjects to photograph and why?
